The events of the past few months have made one thing—a concept that I have believed in for many years—crystal clear for many that would have argued with me previously:

Hi, my name is David Neagle.

To be honest with you, I had kind of a bumpy start in life.

So I started asking myself some different questions about life. Questions like:

• How do I get off this life-sucking treadmill?

• What am I doing wrong?

Now I had never studied self-improvement. (After all, I was a blue collar worker from Chicago!) But I got out a card and wrote out a list of all the things I wanted. On that list was a house, a boat, and an income of $40,000 a year. That seemed like a lot to me at the time. And that was it. I forgot about it and went back to my life as before.

But here's when the real shift happened...it was a Tuesday morning about 2:20 a.m. and it was brutally cold. Nothing was going right. I was exhausted and angry - pretty normal mood for me at the time actually. Suddenly a voice inside my head said, "David, change your attitude."

"What?" I thought. "Now I know I need a break. I'm going nuts and hearing voices."

But something about the message got my attention. Could it really be that simple? Could making a small shift on the inside be enough to make a large shift on the outside?

So I started thinking in a different way. Who do I know who is similar to me who has a better attitude who I can model? I picked the owner of the company because he started the business in his garage and worked every position over time. He was now incredibly successful. But what made him different from me? He seemed to love what he did. So I decided right there on the spot I would begin acting as if I love what I do until I actually DID love it.

Things began to turn around for me then. I was covering some new ground that I didn't know anything about. I knew I couldn't do it alone. I began expanding my mind, knowledge, and sphere of influence. I studied closely with some of the most influential pioneers of transformation including Tony Robbins and Bob Proctor.

It's taken dedication but over the years I've been able to answer those questions I was asking myself in that hospital bed and create a joyous, fulfilling life where most everything seems to work out for me...almost like magic.
